About eBee
A New Chapter Begins
We are thrilled to announce that eBeeHoney has now been welcomed into the family of Bedillion Honey Farm - established in 2004 and proudly run by the Bedillion family: Mark , Sara and their children in Hickory, Pennsylvania. With this transition, you’ll continue to receive the same commitment to pure, carefully produced honey you’ve come to expect - and now backed by an experienced team whose family has been dedicated to beekeeping, producing varietal honey, beeswax, and other bee related products for over two decades. Plus, they have a physical store location in Hickory, PA where you can stop and purchase your honey and other products you enjoy.
From the hives to your table, the Bedillion family carries forward our legacy of stewardship of the land for the bees and the honey they produce. As of today, eBeeHoney’s story becomes part of theirs - and together we look forward to many sweeter years ahead.
Thank you for your continued trust, loyalty, and love of honey.
The eBeeHoney & Bedillion Honey Farm Families
About eBeeHoney - you never know where life will lead you - in 1993 we bought a 60 acre farm as Glenn wanted to start an apple orchard. After planting these trees, he noticed there were no honey bees. So Glenn decided to take up beekeeping. Today little did we know that this would become our full time business and passion.
Prior to this Glenn achieved a doctorate degree in Organic Chemistry and I have a degree in Biology. So prior to becoming full time beekeepers - beekeeping was never even on our radar. Glenn was a chemist for years and I worked in the pharmaceutical field for 20 years.
Glenn became tired of driving so much for his work and we both decided any children we had we wanted them to enjoy growing up with space to enjoy nature. We wanted to have our children appreciate the beauty around them and to take care of the land. So Glenn started beekeeping full time, I eventually joined him.
Over the years, Glenn has been given awards for his Conservation efforts and being a Steward of the Land. In 1990 he was given an award for "Conservation/Habitat Enhancement" for his efforts at converting our local closed landfill in Ashland County, OH into a native grassland prairie, with watchable wildlife. This involved writing the grants, many endless nights and weekends of planting and converting the landfill into what it has become today - this park is now known as Byers Woods.
Throughout the 1990's and early 2000's - Glenn volunteered for Pheasants Forever and planted thousands of acres for residents of Ashland County into habitat suitable for a variety of wildlife. Planting all this acreage peaked his interest in bees and the vital role they play for all of us.
Glenn started noticing less and less honey bees in our orchard and frankly many areas he planted. When we were kids, bees were everywhere, so he became interested in beekeeping and it soon became his full time passion. Honey started building up and we need a way to sell it as our family and friends could only eat so much honey - so our website eBeeHoney.com was started.
I had to learn to code to build our very first website - so many late nights reading and coding and eBeeHoney.com first went live in May 2000. I still remember our very first order - we were in Nebraska visiting my brother when someone bought a 60-lb bucket of wildflower honey. Today it’s much easier to build a website, but those early days taught me the fundamentals of what customers really need from a site.
They need a quick way to see their shipping costs PRIOR to checking out (nobody wants to fill out their name, shipping info. etc.) if they can't see shipping costs upfront. Also a website has to be clean and quick to make ordering convenient and not a hassle. Our earliest customers helped shape the site with their invaluable feedback, and many remain loyal customers today.
Over the years we’ve had the joy of meeting so many fantastic customers across the U.S. who have become friends - so thank you for allowing our online bee-hive to turn into a full-time business! It's been so much fun producing honey and sharing it with folks all across the U.S.
